Winter Running (Harriers)

We meet every Saturday at 1.45pm (April to September)

At venues across Whangārei.  We have social and competitive events, focusing on Cross Country /Trail and Road. We also have championship events managed by Athletics Northland and enter National events.

  • Free for club members and for non-members Adults (18+): $5.00;  Youth (17 and under): $2.00
  • Improve your fitness this winter by getting off the hard pavements and onto the trails – your body will thank you!
  • All ages, all abilities, from competitive athletes to social walkers – everyone is welcome.
  • Harriers is never cancelled unless there is a civil defence emergency. If the weather looks rough, bring a raincoat and warm gear.

Perfect for Kids & Teens Training for Winter Sports

  • Our winter running sessions are a fun, safe, supportive way to boost endurance, speed, and confidence. Great cross-training for all sports.
  • Whether you're gearing up for: School Cross Country; Rugby, Hockey, Football, or Touch; AIMS Games; or you just want to build base fitness and get stronger.

Women's and Plodder's Groups

  • Women's Walking Group on Tuesday morning at 9am. Gold coin donation. Chat and coffee afterwards.
  • Plodders Group every Thursday 5.45pm, 5km, different course every week. Run/walk followed by hot shower, hot chips and a soft drink, bring $5.

Barge Park Series

  • Over 5 Saturdays May to July (16 May, 13 June, 20 June, 27 June and 11 July).
  • Free for members and $2 - $10 for non-members.
  • Spot prize of $100 following each event.
